Crazy Horses and Cherry Pie
Another wonderful and eventful ride for the Pedallers. Stinging nettles, mud, a crazy horse, cherry pie & coffee all played a part in todays ride!
Following summer holidays and a couple of injuries, the Pedallers regrouped in Whipsnade at 9am. The group headed off for Redbourn and encountered a few obstacles along the way. Far too much mud for the time of year and the ever present stinging nettles were navigated successfully. However you just can’t legislate for a crazy, runaway horse and trap! Well Demo Dave couldn’t! It was the mad tractor driver's fault was the murmur as Dave acquainted himself with the roadside bush.
Nothing stops a hardened Pedaller, and on the group went. Despite the allure of a Hub coffee, an about turn was made ready for the climb back up to Whipsnade. The calling of Crazy Bob’s freshly baked cherry pie and homemade, yes homemade macaroons acted as a magnet and pulled the Peloton all the way up the final hill.
Coffee, treats and laughter were enjoyed on the verandah in the sun. Oh joy.
