Wobblers Wednesday Workout

Dave, Andy and Ivan were in the mood for a workout this morning. A new route was suggested and the trio set off at speed from The Oval. The first fast hill down to the London Midland Region disused railway line, aka the Ayot Greenway, set the tone for the rest of the route.

The first destination was Wheathampstead where the first climb was encountered taking the team towards St Albans. Turning right into Wheathampstead Cricket Club and then through Nomansland the fast pace was maintained. The daredevil Pedallers took on a couple of craters and they looked very deep and steep at the time....on reflection and having seen the video maybe not so scary! It was harder than it looked...honest!

Harpenden Common Golf Club was passed in a flash and the Nickey line was crossed heading down through another golf club, this time Redbourn. The long steep hill led back up to Harpenden where the Nickey Line was rejoined at Roundwood Halt with the Oval Café a matter of minutes away.

Coffee and cakes were taken outside in the sun that was doing it's best to make an appearance. The usual heart to heart and chat was had which required more coffee before the trio headed off home.

An excellent workout and some tired legs at the end due to the fast pace over the 15 miles. Whoever says electric bikes are an easy option hasn't ridden an electric bike! More on that another time....

Well done chaps for getting out and turning the wheels.
