Pedallers Christmas Hike

Arrangements had been made, cars had been left strategically and Pedallers gathered at Whipsnade for their annual hike to the Alford Arms. Thirteen men and a dog headed off for Frirthsden navigating deep water, deep mud, tree stumps, large roots and gates. Nothing could have stopped the group in their search for the Frithsden pub!

Due to some navigational issues brought on by the Colonel (!), our 6.5 mile trip soon turned into a 9 mile trip. Not really a problem for us Pedallers as we are all fighters and take on challenges with vim and vigour! So we walked and talked and laughed for 3 1/2 hours, up hills, down hills, through fields, along single tracks and over gates.  It's amazing what a man will do for a pint of Sidepocket.

The Alford Arms suddenly loomed into view and what a sight for sore eyes. Pints were ordered and despacthed quickly as thirsts had been built up a fair amount during the long hike. We all headed back to Whipsnade for a bite to eat, thanking the weather for being kind and mild with dashes of sunshine.

A great spread had been arranged which tired but grateful men attacked with the same vigour as they had the hike. We chatted and laughed about the days adventures and mishaps as thoughts turned to the next Pedaller International trip - Saint Malo 2025! More news to come about this exciting venture.

A really great crew today all showing true support for each other as we navigate through our PCa journeys. Well done to everyone for completing this 9 mile hike with style and panache!
