Prostate Pedallers Blog
Ivinghoe, Aldbury and Cows Roast
The day started off with just two Pedallers braving the uncertain ground conditions due to the recent downpours. Starting from Ashridge House with some great weather although it started off cold. The good news was it soon warmed up but the bad news was Ivan's e-bike failed to connect resulting in the first undulation being climbed with no power. With the assistance from Mike and his expert diagnostics, power was resumed and the journey continued.
Heading in the direction of Ivinghoe turning off and taking the Duncombe Terrace coming out at the top of the steps. Despite the chalky ground on the descent, both riders managed to stay on their bikes and then came across the first bit of mud of the session.
Continuing around the back of the Stocks golf course passing through Aldbury towards Cows Roast and then making tracks back to the Ashridge House.
Within spitting distance of the Bakehouse Café, Mike's bike suffered a puncture, caused by one of the biggest thorns that had ever been seen. Once repaired the pair stopped for the customary coffee, althoug this time Ivan showed his strong will by refusing the offer of a piece of cake, something that we are sure won't last.
Let's hope the sick Pedallers recover from their various ailments - wishing them a speedy recovery and hope to see them next week.
(thanks to Ivan for the story contribution this week)
