Great Ride, Great Chat
Andy and Ivan met up at the Oval feeling pretty energetic. There was a choice of a ride around Harpenden or a longer ride out to Welwyn and that got the immediate vote.
So, lights switched on to help combat the early morning fog, the intrepid Pedaller duo headed off in the direction of West Common and Childwickbury. We were in St Albans before we knew it and headed up through Verulam and picked up the Alban Way. This disused railway line took us all the way to Hatfield and Welwyn, passing the many platforms that still remain along the route.
Passing through Hatfield and right through the centre of Welwyn, then picking up the Ayot Greenway which winds its way back to Wheathampstead. After 28 miles we were definitely ready for coffee and cake. We were joined by Mikey who was on his way back from Mount Vernon so a great catch up was had.
Good to get some proper miles in!
