Ashridge to Chiltern Velo
The Pedallers started off from Ashridge House today and headed towards Chesham, Berko and Tring. A break in the weather provided some clear skies and almost perfect riding conditions (except for the ubiquitous mud!).
The Chiltern Velo provided the perfect pit-stop for the group as the café provides a daily menu including soups, salads and quiches, fresh bread, pastries, sandwiches, and of course a bacon roll. Coffees were enjoyed outside in the sun! Luckily the professional on-site workshop was not required - the Pedaller's bikes are usually well cared for by their owners.
Returning back to Ashridge, the 17 mile round trip with 1,200ft of ascent was completed. The Bakehouse café provided the venue for the day's second coffee with Mike (recovering from bruised ribs) and Charles (recovering from treament) joining the group for the usual chat and catch up. Great to see them both and especially Charles after an extended absence.
A perfect Pedaller's day.
