Ashridge Meet Up

A story of two types of ride today with road and mountain bikes on show. One group meeting up at Ashridge House and heading off on a 20 mile road ride and another smaller group meeting up at The Oval in Harpenden and heading off on their EMTB's towards Ashridge.

A new route had been planned by Ivan on Komoot and you never know exactly what the off-road sections will be until you get there. While being familiar with the Nickey Line, we were less familiar with some of the tracks and routes through fields.

The EMTB team navigated their 14 mile journey and arrived at Ashridge House in good time. In fact perfect timing as the roadies had just arrived and were tucking into their coffees and we understand a bacon buttie had been consumed...outrageous behaviour!

After a good catch up for all the seven Pedallers we bid our farewells and headed off. Ivan and Andy retraced their steps back to the Oval and completed the 28 mile round trip. More refreshments were required and we sneaked into the Oval Café for coffee, ginger beer and a slice of cake.

Always good to get out and great to see the Pedallers putting the miles in and supporting each other. Not long to go before we take on our Cherbourg to Saint Malo journey with our 15 strong team. Happy days ahead.
