Prostate Pedallers Blog
Always Positive, Always Pedalling
There may have been a bit of a break by the resident blogger but that doesn't mean the Pedallers have been any less active. The wheels have been turning, the miles have been covered, mud has been navigated and coffees and cake have been consumed.
Reports have been coming in from various groups of Pedallers of outings from Harpenden to Ashridge to Dunstable, Berkhamstead and beyond. Some routes navigated smoothly with others getting lost on the way but always finding their way back to the relevant café. It takes a lot to keep a Pedaller from their coffee!
The latest outing consisted of road bikes of both the purely leg powered variety and also the battery assisted variety. This week's tour took them from Ashridge to Ringshall and onto Tom's Hill, then through Tring and up the steep Hastoe Hill. This is where the road e-bike came into it's own and helped tired legs climb steadily and surely.
Continuing through Cholesbury and settling in to the Velo Café for not only coffee and cake but, wait for it, an egg and bacon butty. A controversial choice from Mark as this genre of mid morning snack is rarely seen on a Pedaller outing. Always slightly worrying with these new trends as they can stick and we find oursleves all ordering egg and bacon buttys and also a piece of cake for dessert. We must be strong!!
It was important to keep moving as it was cold, cold, cold. Returning to Ashridge via Berko and retracing some of the outward leg of the journey - it was good to make it back to the cars, pack up and start the journey back home.
Top effort and good to see the Pedallers taking on the cold and getting those miles in.
