We Prostate Pedallers are a group of people with prostate cancer, a not-for-profit charitable organisation, helping our fellows with the challenges of living with our condition.
There are many medical based support and advisory groups but, unusually, we Prostate Pedallers are a bunch of guys with prostate cancer who are more comfortable sharing a healthy and fun activity and through that, developing an understanding of where each of us is on our cancer journey. Our support is through friendship and shared experience.
We help our members and their families to cope with Prostate Cancer (PCa) by:
Getting the guy out of the house to do something healthy and rewarding
Cycling regularly in the company of friends in fresh air and beautiful countryside
Sharing our symptoms, treatments, results, cycling tips and banter!
Developing mental and physical resilience by overcoming fresh physical challenges
We encourage people to meet us first for a chat over coffee, and some members initially don't ride at all and just enjoy a coffee and a chat after the ride; and while there's never any pressure to get on a bike, we are good at and really enjoy teaching 'rusty' and often 'older' cyclists how to re-learn old skills and join in the fun. The vast majority of our rides start from Ashridge, Whipsnade and Harpenden where we are blessed with beautiful countryside and cycle routes.
We are a small charity and rely heavily on donations to help us spread awareness of prostate cancer and support men with the disease in a positive way. You can donate to us using the bank details below. Any donations are very gratefully received.

"When you have prostate cancer your choices are limited to accepting whatever therapies you are offered. One way I can avoid being passive and fight back against cancer is to keep myself fit and active. Prostate Pedallers provides me with the motivation and opportunity to push myself physically and to become a better cyclist.”

"Meeting up and cycling with the Prostate Pedallers is a great experience. When you have prostate cancer, exercise is vital and you get a real sense of acheivement after each ride; it has definitley helped me get fitter and build stamina. It's a very relaxing atmosphere which enables us to speak openly and share our experiences ."
